On October 3rd, Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy was ousted from his position, following a lengthy deal with House Democrats to avoid a government shutdown, making him the first speaker to be ousted in the middle of a congressional term. This has brought new light to the condition of domestic politics within the United States, bringing us to the questions of how did we get here, and where we may be heading next.
