Friday Dec 02, 2022
The most widely viewed and followed single sporting event in the world has arrived in the form of the 2022 World Cup hosted by the small oil-rich Middle Eastern nation of Qatar. However, despite the passion for the event, this year’s World Cup has been mired in corruption, scandals, political intrigue, and accusation of the use of slave labor which has further damaged the reputation of football’s ruling body Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Which brings us to the question of how we got here and what will happen next?

Putin Going Nuclear? Russia Ups Nuclear Rhetoric in Ukraine
Sunday Oct 30, 2022
Sunday Oct 30, 2022
Recently, this month United States President Joe Biden warned that the world could face nuclear Armageddon if his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, were to use a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine. Putin, on the other hand, has made implicit threats of using nuclear weapons to protect his newly “annexed” territories as Ukrainian counter-offensives mount up their pressure. All this tension has led to the world facing possibly the greater threat of nuclear weapon usage since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Which leads us to the question of how we got here and what may happen next?

Bolsonaro vs Lula: Brazilian Elections Head to Runoff
Monday Oct 24, 2022
Monday Oct 24, 2022
Brazil recently held the first round of their heated presidential elections earlier this month as political rivals former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, commonly known as Lula, took 48%. In comparison, current president Jair Bolsonaro took 43% of the vote forcing the two into a runoff to decide the next president on October 30th. With two diametrically opposed candidates and the current president sowing distrust in the electoral process in case of his defeat, political tensions in the nation remain high. Which brings us to the question of how we got here and what may happen next?

Friday Oct 07, 2022
Friday Oct 07, 2022
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has upset long-standing geopolitical trends and the balance of global politics in many different ways. One thing it has revealed is the precarious energy situation that most of Europe face as Russia cuts off its shipments of oil through the pipelines to the rest of the continent. European nations now face soaring energy prices as winter looms and people struggle to heat their homes. This all leads us to the question of how we got here and what could happen next?
