Friday Apr 23, 2021
Since the annexation of Crimea in 2014, tensions between Russia and Ukraine have been on a knife's edge. Repeated Ukrainian requests to join the NATO military alliance and Russian support for separatists in Eastern Ukraine have soured relations between the two nations to the breaking point. Recent Russian troop deployments to the Ukrainian border are drawing scrutiny from the international community, including the Biden administration and its Western European allies.
Today, join the Global Current as analysts Annie Hebel and Sebastian Kopec look at Russia's latest moves, their effects on European security, and other reactions from around the globe. Beforehand, New Briefer Shweta Parthasarathy informs us of other pressing news headlines from around the globe.
