Pressure on the Peninsula: North Korean Missile Tests
Sunday Apr 11, 2021
Sunday Apr 11, 2021
North Korea is back in the news as it conducts fresh ballistic missile tests. The U.S. and its Asian allies like Japan and South Korea see the threat posed by a nuclear-armed North Korea; President Biden has already declared his intention not to meet with the North's leader, Kim Jong-Un. While the Trump administration tried to revive stalled nuclear weapons talks, they collapsed again in 2019, leaving few open diplomatic options.
Today, join the Global Current as analysts Harshana Ghoorhoo and Jackie Ballard dissect the new missile tests, their impact on regional security, and how the West and other nations plan to address the crisis. Beforehand, New Briefer Annie Hebel informs us of other pressing news headlines from around the globe.
